К концу 20-х годов высшее медицинское образование в Украине можно было поучить в Киеве, Львове, Одессе, Харькове, Екатеринославле (Днепропетровске) и Симферополе.
Впервые вопрос о необходимости открытия медицинского вуза в Донбассе был поставлен в январе 1930 года на проходившем в Харькове, тогдашней столице Украины, съезде руководящих работников здравоохранения. Примечательно одно из обоснований необходимости: «....в соответствии с намечающимся колоссальным развитием Донбасса...". Прогноз руководящих работников сбылся
For June 12, 1930 The CPC CPC of Ukraine adopted a decision № 19/672 opening in Stalino Medical Institute (the first director - Ivan Yakovlevich Olympia, the order from 22.06.1930). Approved and the budget of the university: 1 year - 150 thousand rubles, at 2 per year - 300 thousand rubles.
Where to start?
- Stalin City Council allocated the Revenue Department, seven-year schools and two-story house on the main street of the city, 30 apartments for teachers from other cities
- Stalin Mining Institute has provided its area for the teaching of chemistry and physics
- The Kiev Medical Institute has allocated about 70 microscopes
- Anatomical Museum of Kharkov University (Professor Vorob'ev VP) gave a number of original products, models and tables, drawings and designs special furniture
- Leningrad Military Medical Academy - training medical literature
- Fundamental Library of the Academy of Sciences - a series of monographs, journals, dissertations duplicates
